Schiaparelli was the “it” designer and the “epitome of female fashion modernity in Paris before it fell to the Germans. Elsa fled to NY, but stopped designing after the war, when fashions drastically changed. How amazing is it that we have this opulent necklace available? It must have been designed to wear with her flowing silks and billowing taffetas.
